C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S Review
For our Christmas review I created a banner that held rolled-up streamers behind each letter, which had a song on each.
Our songs:
C - Christmas Bells Are Ringing: jingle bell bracelets around wrists and jingling to the beat
H - Have A Very Merry Christmas: same as Christmas Bells
R - Reverently, Quietly
I - I Am A Child of God: sign language on chorus
S - Stars Were Gleaming: signs made-up by previous chorister
T - The Shepherd's Carol: in a round
M - Mary's Lullaby: 2 or 3 baby dolls wrapped in blankets for junior primary to hold while singing
A - Away In A Manger: same as Mary's Lullaby
S - Samuel Tells of the Baby Jesus: costumes for Samuel, baby doll for Jesus, Hosanna leaves for "hosanna," costume for angel

Banner instructions:
(9) 4x4 green cardstock squares
red cardstock for the letters
streamers
(9) clothespins
For the letters, I started with a 4x4 square of green, so that the size matched the red square, and then cut freehand. |
Write Christmas song on each streamer then roll it up and fasten lightly with the clothespin that is clipped to the green cardstock. I used a ribbon on which all of the letters were fastened. |
Have a child come and choose a letter. Remove the clothespin and the streamer will stream down with the name of a Christmas song. Then you'll need to reattach the clothespin so that the letter stays hanging on the ribbon. Sing the song. Use puppets, instruments, rhythm makers, any variety of extra-fun activities during the song.
